Funding a qualification for your staff

If you are the person who has to approve the spend, this page is for you. If you are the member of staff trying to get it approved, take the business case below and send it on: it says what the qualification is, what it covers and what it costs, in a form that survives being forwarded.

What you would be funding

A regulated qualification, not a course certificate. These are NCFE qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework, awarded by NCFE, an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation. The Data and AI School of London is an NCFE approved centre. The certificate at the end is issued by NCFE and is recognised independently of us, which is the practical difference between a regulated qualification and an in-house training programme.

Delivery is entirely online, so there is no travel, no venue and no block of days away from work. Learners study around their job, with tutor support and published response times, and they are assessed on evidence they produce rather than by sitting an exam. The technical and vocational qualifications use portfolio assessment; Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and Digital use assessments set and marked by NCFE.

What we do not claim, because we have no evidence for it: a return on your investment, a salary uplift, or a retention figure. You can judge the value of a regulated qualification in your own sector better than a marketing page can.

A business case you can forward

Every qualification has one. It is generated from that qualification's own record: the awarding organisation, the level, the units, the assessment method, the duration and the fee. It is a PDF, it is one document, and it contains no claim we could not evidence.

Download a business case for any qualification open for enrolment. Each link opens the PDF for that qualification.

One page to pass on

If you need something to put in front of whoever owns staff development, our one page employer summary (PDF) covers what is available today, how staff study, how invoicing works and how to verify us independently. It is generated from the live catalogue, so the qualifications and fees on it are the ones on this site.

How employer payment works

Your member of staff applies in the normal way, or you contact us first and we guide them through it. At application, or when the offer is accepted, we are told the organisation is funding the place. We then arrange payment with you directly rather than asking the learner to pay and reclaim it, and a member of staff confirms the payment against the account before the enrolment completes.

We can invoice you. Most finance teams would rather pay against an invoice than a payment link, so tell us and we will raise one. We need the name of the organisation, the billing address, the person it should be addressed to, and a purchase order number if yours requires one. Payment is due within 30 days of the date on the invoice, and your member of staff keeps their place while it is settled. Payment is by bank transfer; reply to the invoice and we send the account details straight back.

Every invoice we issue carries a reference beginning DAIS-INV and can be checked at dataaischool.com/verify/, which confirms it came from us and has not been altered. If anything on it is wrong, tell us before paying rather than after and we will reissue it.

There is nothing to pay at application. The fee for each qualification is published on its page, and the full terms, including paying in full or over several months, are on our fees and payment page. We do not offer a government-funded route, so what you see published is what it costs. No VAT is added: we are not registered for VAT, so the published fee is the total your organisation pays and there is no VAT to reclaim.

If you are funding more than one person, talk to us before they apply individually and we will work out the sensible way to run it.
