Course overview
This Entry Level 1 qualification develops the practical maths skills needed for everyday life, study and work. Learners build confidence across the three core strands of Functional Skills Mathematics: using numbers and the number system, using common measures, shape and space, and handling information and data.
Teaching focuses on applying mathematics to realistic problems, prices and budgets, timetables and schedules, measurements, charts and simple statistics, so the skills transfer directly into daily situations and the workplace. Delivery is 100% online with tutor support, and learners work at their own pace.
Assessment is through NCFE-set assessments taken when the learner is ready. Functional Skills Mathematics qualifications are recognised by employers across the UK and provide a stepping stone to the next level of study.
