21.1 Purpose and Scope

This policy governs any arrangement in which the Data and AI School of London sub-contracts the delivery of NCFE qualifications to a third party, or uses associate online tutors to deliver teaching and assessment. It ensures that all subcontracting activity is transparent, NCFE-compliant, and subject to the same quality standards as direct delivery.

21.2 NCFE Approval Requirement

The Data and AI School of London must obtain written approval from NCFE before entering into any arrangement in which a third party delivers part of an NCFE qualification on the school's behalf. This is a contractual requirement under NCFE Centre Agreement Clause 9.2. For T Level qualifications, written approval is mandatory for any third-party involvement.

21.3 Requirements for Associate Online Tutors

Before an associate tutor begins work with learners:

  1. 1. All pre-employment checks required under Policy 19 must be completed, including an Enhanced DBS check.

  2. 2. A written subcontractor agreement must be signed, confirming adherence to all school policies.

  3. 3. The tutor must be given access to the school's VLE using an institutional account, personal accounts must not be used.

  4. 4. The tutor must complete the school's online induction (Policy 19) before working with learners.

21.4 Monitoring and Oversight

The Lead IQA samples the assessment decisions of all subcontracted assessors in accordance with the IQA Strategy (Policy 16). The Head of Centre reviews the performance of all subcontractors at least once per term and at the annual appraisal point.

21.5 NCFE Notification

The Compliance Manager notifies NCFE of any new subcontracting arrangements as required by the NCFE Centre Agreement and updates the centre's NCFE Portal records accordingly.
