17.1 Purpose and Scope
The Data and AI School of London operates with the highest standards of honesty and integrity. This policy sets out the school's zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, in compliance with the Bribery Act 2010 and NCFE's Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy. It applies to all staff and all school operations, including those conducted online.
17.2 Definition
Bribery involves offering, giving, receiving, or requesting a financial or other advantage to influence the actions of an individual holding a position of trust. In the context of the school, this includes any incentive or advantage offered in exchange for a favourable assessment decision, access to assessment materials in advance, a certificate without legitimate qualification completion, or a reference in exchange for payment.
In an online environment, bribery may occur through digital payment platforms, online transfers, social media gifts, or other non-cash methods. The school's zero-tolerance policy applies to all such methods equally.
17.3 Responsibilities
All staff are prohibited from accepting gifts, hospitality, or other advantages from learners or third parties that could be perceived as influencing assessment or qualification outcomes.
All staff are required to report any attempt to offer a bribe, or any request to provide an unearned advantage, to the Head of Centre immediately.
The Head of Centre is responsible for assessing any reported concern and escalating to NCFE where assessment integrity has been compromised.
17.4 Whistleblowing
Staff who report a genuine concern about bribery or corruption in good faith are protected from retaliation under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998. Reports can be made directly to the Head of Centre or anonymously through the agreed reporting channel. Where the concern involves the Head of Centre, it should be reported directly to NCFE.
17.5 Record Keeping
All reported concerns, investigations, and outcomes are recorded by the Head of Centre and retained for a minimum of 3 years.
This policy is reviewed annually. Next review: April 2027. Approved by: Head of Centre. © Data and AI School of London, April 2026. NCFE Approved Centre.
