NCFE Level 4 Award in Programming (Java)

Course overview

This Level 4 Award gives learners the knowledge and skills to support progression into employment in a programming role, specialising in Java. Across two mandatory units, learners study professional programming concepts and then apply them in Java, writing, testing and refining real code.

Java powers enterprise systems, Android development and large-scale back-end services worldwide. This compact higher-level award is designed for career changers and professionals who want a recognised Level 4 credential without committing to a full diploma. Delivery is 100% online with tutor support.

Assessment is through an internally assessed, externally quality assured portfolio of evidence, with no exams. The award supports progression to our Level 4 and 5 diplomas and further software development study.

Entry requirements
